Wicked Slush Petaluma dishes up cool treats
Stroll down a little alley off Helen Putnam Plaza in downtown Petaluma for a delicious Boston-style slush, soft-serve ice cream, or a luscious combination of the two at the new Wicked Slush Petaluma.
What is a slush? In New York they call it Italian ice, in Philadelphia it’s water ice, but in Boston it’s a slush. Think freshly fallen snow, firmly packed but not hard, in a beautiful raspberry pink or sunset orange, and tasting like ice-cold juicy watermelon or mango, or a multitude of other colors and flavors.
Owners Dave and Juliet Pokorny worked closely with Amy Covin of the highly popular Amy’s Wicked Slush in Healdsburg, resulting in the new Petaluma location owned by the Pokornys but featuring the same wonderful products as in Healdsburg, with a tantalizing array of tastes.
Slush flavors might include black cherry, mango, blue raspberry, watermelon, strawberry lemonade, passion fruit, sour apple, margarita, cotton candy, and more. Soft Serve ice cream options start with chocolate and vanilla, but include 25 more flavors, from apricot to watermelon and just about everything in between. Both slush and soft serve are available dipped, jimmied (also called sprinkled), or waffled, or as a split – half slush and half soft serve layered parfait style. They also serve hot chocolate and coffee.
