Description

Battaglini Estate Winery is a rustic, family owned and operated boutique winery located in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County. You will think you have been transplanted to Italy as Giuseppe and Lucia or other family members welcome you to their winery. Play some bocce ball, listen to some Italian music, or let Giuseppe regale you with stories of his beloved Lucca. You may come for the picturesque setting, but you will stay for the wines.

Battaglini Winery has some of the oldest vines in the United States as their Zinfandel and Petite Sirah vines were originally brought over from Tuscany way back in 1885. That’s right, their vines are over 133 years old! They make their wines the old-fashioned Italian way using only natural fermentation, dry farming techniques, and hand pruning. The result is exquisite, complex wines that age incredibly well. Ask for a library tasting as they offer vintages as far back as 2001. There are very few local wineries that can offer such a wide selection of premium older vintages yet maintain a pricing structure that is approachable.

Open by appointment only. Please call 707-578-4091 to make a tasting appointment.
