Back in 1989, then-math professor and grape broker Rick Moshin purchased his first Pinot Noir vineyard in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley—and started a new career as a farmer and winemaker.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019, Moshin Vineyards is still family-owned and -operated, and handcrafts premium-quality wines in one of the only gravity-flow wineries in America.
Moshin specializes in single-vineyard and estate-blend Pinot Noir, but also makes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Merlot, dessert wines, traditional-method sparkling wine, and a crowd-pleasing Rosé of Pinot Noir that won Double Gold in the 2019 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
The Moshin Vineyards tasting room is open daily to the public from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tasting fee is $20 per person (waived with wine purchase).
Group tastings for 8 guests or more, as well as private tastings and tours, are available by appointment only -- please call the winery at 707-433-5499.
