The Wonders of a Wedding Planner: Elsa Vera Productions
When Santa Rosa’s Elsa Vera Productions plans a Wine Country wedding, owner Elsa Vera says she’s not putting together an event, but rather, she is “presenting a love story.” Every couple is unique, she says, and a Sonoma County wedding is designed to share personality along with the passion.
So it makes sense that an EVP wedding can have unlimited facets. Perhaps a couple wants complete wedding planning, from invitations to the reception. Another couple, though, might need “day-of” coordination only, while another might request a DIY experience where EVP simply provides items like vases, parasols, baskets and banners.
Or - and Vera says she has run into this situation plenty of times – a couple might have started planning, then realized how much effort it requires. She happily jumps in where they’ve left off, taking over as little as a week before the ceremony.
One of the more popular packages is the new One Stop Shop, bringing a(mostly) all inclusive package of a photographer, DJ, cake, flowers, officiate, programs, favors, detail decor and planning for $10,000 for up to 100 guests. Just add in site selection and a caterer, and the wedding is complete. EVP can also help with bridal and wedding party hair styling and make-up.
Some of the more unique services include brainpower, as in professional help in specific areas that only an experienced, professional planner can provide. For example, EVP offers a custom timeline to help couples with their own planning, as well as a detailed one for the big day. Couples can also get a custom budget guide to assist them through the ins-and-outs of wedding detail costs, or a ceremony consultation and wedding rehearsal.
Brainstorming sessions are another popular experience, Vera notes. Those little touches can make such a big difference, like having warm throws on hand, in case the Wine Country evening turns chilly. Or cute accents can really set a mood, such as “I Do” and “Me Too” painted on old barn boards and placed at the couple’s reception table, or take-away favors of jars filled with handcrafted Sonoma County jam.
Each tiny detail adds up to another chapter in that one-of-a-kind couple’s book of love.
