Covid has been nothing less than devastating for yoga studios across the globe, and Sonoma County was not spared. Approximately 50% of studios are no longer in existence. As the world is opening up again, it can be difficult to ascertain which are still in business and what information is outdated. Here are the best studios in Sonoma County; a mix of strong survivors and a couple of exciting new spaces to get your yoga on:

“Our new name reflects our studio’s vibrant energy, positive strong community and uplifting classes."

Energize Hot Yoga offers a fun schedule consisting of hot yoga, inferno hot pilates, fusion flow, vinyasa, restorative and even candlelight kundalini.

If you are on a budget, join for a Friday happy hour $10 drop in class.

Shoshana Hebsh opened Revolution Yoga in 2019 just a few months before Covid and quickly had to transition to online and outdoor classes.

Now they are back in the small, but warm and inviting studio space and offer vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga, mat pilates and barre. The teachers come from diverse training backgrounds with additional knowledge base in functional movement, Chinese medicine, nutrition, weightlifting and more.

Revolution Yoga also offers outdoor yoga at Notre Vue Winery and Paradise Ridge Winery

If you like it hot and funky, try Petaluma’s very own Yoga Hell. This hot yoga and pilates studio opened its doors in 2010 and provides a mixture of hot yoga and inferno hot pilates, which is accompanied by an awesome soundtrack and its very own light show. It’s hot. It’s fun. It’s sweaty!

The Yoga Post might be the new kid on the block, but it is the brainchild of some of the most experienced and treasured teachers in Sonoma County. The studio itself is hands-down the most gorgeous studio in the North Bay and beyond; big and open, beamed ceiling, with lots of natural light and a view over the Petaluma River. You can literally sit in boat pose and look at the boats floating by right outside!

The schedule is simple and tight; vinyasa, yin and strength. Every teacher has more than a decade experience and brings their own unique knowledge and style to the mat.

Apart from a regular schedule, The Yoga Post offers Saturday workshops on various topics ranging from a monthly Yoga & Hike in the beautiful surrounding areas, to Alignment 101 and Yoga With Essential Oils, just to mention a few. Check out the studio's website for more information.
