The Achadinha (Osh-a-deen-a) Cheese Company is a family operated ranch lead by Jim and Donna Pacheco along with their four children William, Daniel, Elizabeth and David. This family tradition began 3 generations ago in Achadinha, Portugal and Vallejo, California with both of Jim's grandfathers milking cows. In 1955 Jim's parents branched out on their own and eventually in 1969 they ended up in Petaluma where the Pachecos are currently milking cows and goats to make their own Farmstead cheeses. They also raise beef cows, pigs, sheep, horses, chickens, dogs, cats and ducks. Discover what makes their cheeses special.

Product Information: Capricious won "Best in Show" at the American Cheese Society event in 2002 and was named one of Saveurs "50 favorite cheeses in the United States" in 2005.
Broncha: A gentle table cheese inspired by a Portuguese family recipe and infused with the subtle flavors of the brewers grains fed to our goats.
Feta: Pacheco Dairy's pasteurized goat's milk Feta is a fresh style Feta that is soaked in a sea salt brine and delivered to market within four days. The Feta has a sweet creamy taste and texture with a fresh brine finish.
Fresh Cheese Curd: These delectable morsels of cheesy goodness truly capture the "fresh from the ranch" flavor that is hard to find at retail stores.

You'll love our traditional farm tour! Guests will be treated to a full ranch tour that includes everything from the cheese plant, milking parlor and the loafing barns where the girls hang out. Naturally there will be cheese tasting before you head on down the road. Tour includes:

$25 per person $5 to $10 for children. We offer group discounts for 15 adults or more based on one source of payment. Private tours are additional for smaller groups and based on request.

Cheesemaking Class
Looking for that once in a lifetime cheese making experience? This class is for you! Upon arrival you will roll up your sleeves, put on a hairnet and get your hands wet in a Vat full of curds and whey! You will learn how to use the equipment and see the cheese aging room before being treated to a full ranch tour that includes everything from the Milking parlor to the Loafing barn. Naturally there will be plenty of cheese tasting before lunch in our family party room. This Class Includes:

$120 per person. Classes are subject to having at least 10 people per class.
