  • Part of the Sonoma State Historic Park, this two-story, wood-frame house was the estate of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, Military Commander and Director of Colonization of the Northern Frontier. Built in 1851-52 about a half mile west of the Plaza, the structure showcases a dramatic gothic Victorian style.
    • Great place to walk around

We weren’t able to tour inside the home, but really enjoyed walking the trails surrounding the area. Farmer’s Market was right off the trail as well as an historic vineyard. Worth seeing!

    • California History at its best.

General Vallejo was a key player in having California become part of the US. A nice, little house for a man of such importance. A must visit as part of learning the history of California.
