The Russian River Railbikes are a pedal-powered railbike experience operated by the Golden Gate Railroad Museum, running on former Northwestern Pacific Railroad tracks just north of Cloverdale.
Ride details:
Route & Scenery: A scenic six-mile round trip departing from 425 Asti Road, Cloverdale. The path features vineyards, wooded areas, a tunnel under a cemetery, a bridge, and beautiful views of the Russian River. There’s a roughly 20-30 minute rest at the turnaround point.
Duration & Pace: The journey runs at a leisurely pace of about ten miles per hour, making the trip both relaxed and enjoyable. The full experience (including the break) lasts around 90 minutes to two hours.
Railbike details & capacity:
Railbike specs: Each railbike seats up to four passengers. There are eight railbikes available for each tour group.
Who operates it: The operation is staffed by volunteers from the Golden Gate Railroad Museum, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving railroad heritage, including the historic 2472 steam locomotive.
