Caring for Your Olive Trees Seminar

Join us at Gold Ridge Organic Farms for a half-day workshop dedicated to the successful management of olive trees. Whether you're a home grower with a few backyard trees or an orchard management professional, you'll gain valuable insights from this focused session. Paul will explore essential topics including the definition and physiological causes of alternate bearing, best practices for pruning, irrigation, and nutrition, as well as practical strategies to reduce alternate bearing and improve overall olive production. The class covers both organic and conventional farming methods, giving you a comprehensive toolkit for cultivating healthier, more productive olive trees.

The session will be held in our milling area, with portions taking place in the orchards if weather permits. Please dress in comfortable layers to accommodate changing conditions and wear closed-toe, non-slip footwear suitable for walking on uneven terrain. Coffee and tea will be provided throughout the event.

Paul Vossen is a legendary local Farm Advisor and Emeritus Extension Agent who retired from UC Davis in 2016 after 35 years of distinguished research and teaching.
