Celebrating Christo and Jeanne Claude’s “Running Fence”

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Christo and Jeanne Claude’s monumental Running Fence with a screening of the 1977 Academy Award-nominated documentary Running Fence, directed by Albert Maysles, David Maysles, and Charlotte Zwerin. The film captures the effort required to realize the two-week temporary art installation that stretched 24.5 miles through Sonoma and Marin Counties and became a world-famous, iconic part of North Bay culture and history. The movie will be followed by stories and a Q&A with special guests, including Museum of Sonoma County curator Eric Stanley and Executive Director Karen Wise, rancher Joe Pozzi, and Jonathan Henery of the Christo and Jeanne Claude Foundation.

This program is presented in conjunction with the Museum of Sonoma County’s exhibition, Christo and Jeanne-Claude: Running Fence at 50 Years, on view through November 8.
