Cosmos & Cocoa

Begin your evening with a guided hike along our Planet Walk Trail, a flat and scenic journey to Saturn and back, approximately 1.2 miles in total, beneath the darkening sky as knowledgeable docents offer insightful facts at each planetary stop. Did you know: each step in our planet walk is equivalent to 2.3 million miles through our solar system!

After the walk, return to the Robert Ferguson Observatory to warm up with a cup of hot cocoa and an in-depth stargazing session led by one of our experienced astronomers. The night sky tour blends science and storytelling, helping you appreciate the night sky in a whole new way.

Once the Star guide portion concludes, guests are welcome to refill their cocoa and continue observing through our telescopes for the remainder of the night.

This program is designed for families and guests of all ages who can comfortably enjoy a light hike and remain respectful and attentive while volunteers offer information. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring a white-light flashlight for this event only.
