Fred Armisen: Comedy For Musicians But Everyone Is Welcome

Fred Armisen is a comedian, writer, producer, and musician. His career began with the Chicago-based post-punk band Trenchmouth, as well as a stint with the Blue Man Group. An eleven-season veteran of Saturday Night Live, Armisen was the co-writer and co-star of IFC’s Emmy-nominated series Portlandia, which he created alongside Carrie Brownstein.

He also co-wrote, co-starred in, and executive produced HBO’s Spanish-language series Los Espookys, and was a co-writer, co-star, and producer of IFC’s Documentary Now. Armisen recently wrapped production on season two of Wednesday for Netflix and will voice Elliot Birch in the eighth and final season of Big Mouth, also for Netflix.

In film, he recently voiced a character in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and appeared in Judd Apatow’s The Bubble. He is currently touring Comedy for Musicians but Everyone is Welcome and recently wrapped his Broadway debut in All In – Comedy About Love.

Since 2014, Armisen has served as the bandleader of the 8G Band on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
