Fridays at the Hood

Come join us for Fridays at the Hood! This community-focused outdoor music series that celebrates local culture at the historic Hood Mansion continues for the rest of the summer, and we can't wait to have you. 

July 18: Based in San Francisco, the Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra was founded in 2007 by guitarist and songwriter Anthony Paule. Inspired by classic soul and blues of the '60s and ’70s, the horn-driven ensemble is known for its powerhouse vocalists.

July 25: Formed in 1984 by members of the Maroon Society, Midnight Sun brings a vibrant mix of island music and R&B that’s sure to get you dancing. With decades of chemistry and infectious rhythms, they deliver a feel-good night of lively grooves and joyful energy.

Aug. 1: Tom Rigney is one of the premier American roots music fiddle players on the planet. His band, Tom Rigney and Flambeau, specializes in blazing Cajun and Zydeco two-steps, low-down Blues, funky New Orleans grooves, boogie woogie piano, and roots rock & roll. Much of the repertoire is original music written by Rigney, but they mix in some classics from the Cajun/New Orleans songbook.

Aug. 8: Soul Fuse is a soul, funk, R&B band playing original compositions and classic covers. Soul Fuse features players who have been members and recorded with Loggins and Messina, The Eagles, Gregg Allman, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, and Nick Gravenites, to name a few. Soul Fuse has been playing throughout Sonoma County and Northern California for a decade and is known as one of the area’s tightest and most exciting original bands.

Aug. 15: German-born guitarist-singer Volker Strifler plays with a rare blend of fire, restraint, and clarity. His creative style is rooted in the blues but offers innovative explorations into rock, jazz, and Latin rhythms, with several stops in New Orleans along the way! The pace can be fast and raucous or laid back and down home, but most of all – it’s fun!

Aug. 22: Mototombo SF is an ensemble featuring prominent San Francisco Bay Area musicians, primarily alumni of Malo and Santana. Focused on musicianship and improvisational creativity, the group is dedicated to keeping the Latin rock legacy alive through high-energy live performances.
