Jack London Memorial

Nov. 22, 2025, marks the 109th anniversary of Jack Londons death. Volunteer Park Historian Lou Leal will preside over a memorial service. Songwriter and vocalist Jeff Falconer will perform his original song written in memory of Jack London. Jack London died of kidney failure at the age of 40. In his short life he accomplished much, not only as a writer of fifty books, but also as an adventurer, reporter, war correspondent, sports article writer, and innovative farmer. He was in the process of developing a model ranch, destined to be the finest in California, when he died. He would have wished farming to be his true legacy, far beyond writing.
The memorial is open to the public at no charge. The park entry fee of $10 per vehicle applies. Those attending should gather at the House of Happy Walls Museum at 10:30 a.m. to start the half mile walk to the gravesite. A golf cart will be available for those who need assistance.
