Jazz in the Plaza

Now in its fifth year, this beloved summer series brings live jazz to the heart of downtown Petaluma every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Hosted by local jazz bassist, music book publisher, and KRCB host Chuck Sher, the series features a rotating lineup of veteran professional jazz musicians performing in Putnam Plaza Park, right next to The Speakeasy.

Launched in 2020, the series has become a staple for locals and visitors alike. Stop by and enjoy some of the best jazz the Bay Area has to offer in a casual, family-friendly setting.

Upcoming lineups:

Aug. 3: Enjoy Brian Pardo on guitar, Doug Morton on keys and flugelhorn, Bob Afifi on flute, Jim Chanteloupe on drums, and Chuck Sher on bass.

Aug. 10: The group features Ken Cook on piano, Brian Pardo on guitar, Kendrick Freeman on drums, and Chuck Sher on bass.

Aug. 17: Catch Larry Dunlap on piano, Randy Vincent on guitar, David Rokeach on drums, and Chuck Sher on bass.

Aug. 24: Ken Cook returns on piano, joined by Morris Acevedo on guitar, Kendrick Freeman on drums, and Chuck Sher on bass.

Aug. 31: The month closes with Michael Spiro on percussion, Ken Cook on piano, Kendrick Freeman on drums, and David Belove on bass.
