Jeff Sanford’s Cartoon Jazz Orchestra

Jeff Sanfords Cartoon Jazz Orchestra will make its winery debut at Patz & Hall in Sonoma on Saturday, Sept. 13, bringing its high-energy, playful sound to the vineyard setting.
Although the ensemble has performed throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for more than two decades, this will be the first time the group appears at a winery. Often performing as a 16-piece big band or as a septet, the orchestra will bring ten musicians to the stage for this performance.
Led by master multi-instrumentalist Jeff Sanford (saxophones, flutes, clarinets), the Cartoon Jazz Orchestra celebrates the genius of composer Raymond Scott, whose fast-paced, whimsical compositions were the soundtrack to more than 120 Looney Tunes cartoons. In addition to tackling Scotts intricate melodies, the group is known for its adventurous jazz improvisations.
We are very much looking forward to performing at this beautiful venue, Sanford said. After playing almost exclusively indoors, this will be really different and fun.
Guests will be greeted with a splash of Patz & Hall wine and a commemorative GoVino wine glass. Wines will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets, or lawn chairs. The event is family-friendly and open to all ages.
