Nature at Work

This Labor Day, join a naturalist-led exploration of the remarkable work happening throughout the landscape at Jack London State Historic Park.
From natures architects and engineers to recyclers, pollinators, and cleanup crews, wildlife is constantly working behind the scenes to keep the ecosystem thriving. Along the way, explore the important work people do to care for this special place.
There is an extraordinary amount of activity happening in nature, much of it just beyond our notice. This three-mile, family-friendly program invites participants to slow down, look more closely, and discover the many ways wildlife and people contribute to a healthy landscape.
The program includes a guided walk along the historic trails surrounding Jack Londons ranch and continuing to the Wolf House, covering approximately 3 miles round trip. The route includes elevation changes and uneven terrain. Participants should come prepared with plenty of water, sturdy walking shoes, and sun protection.
