Peace in the Plaza

Sonoma comes together for Peace in the Plaza, a free half day event inspired by the UN International Day of Peace and presented by Sonoma Ashram. Expect live music, open air yoga, a wellness hub, activities for kids, and tables from local groups. Musicians to take the stage: René Jenkins, Vox Populi, Mark Dennis, Sophia Sanchez, and Sukhawat Ali Khan Band.

At noon, the event pauses for a minute of silence, joining the UN’s global moment of peace happening at that same hour around the world. Sonoma Ashram founder Baba Harihar Ramji, known to many as Babaji, leads guided meditations and gives an afternoon talk. For more than 35 years he has taught in the Sonoma Valley, with a message centered on simple living, inner freedom, and service to others.

The idea behind the day is simple: peace starts inside each of us, then moves outward, into our homes, our neighborhoods, and beyond.
