For his fourth album, If I Were a Butterfly, Rayland Baxter spent over a year living alone in a converted rubber-band factory in rural Kentucky. I lived in a barn with the squirrels and birds, and I discovered so much about music and how to create it, the Tennessee native said. Id go outside, see a butterfly, and suddenly a song Id been working on would make sense.
Langhorne Slim, an acclaimed singer and songwriter, has spent the last two decades blending genres into a sound thats raw, powerful, and uniquely his own. Whether playing campfires, dive bars, or arenas, Slim is known for his electric connection with audiences. Despite his long career, he says it still feels like the beginning.
