Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival: Opening Night

Opening Night of the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival will take place Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m., featuring the Lens of Power Award presentation to legendary filmmaker and workers’ rights advocate Barbara Kopple. The evening includes a reception from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., a screening of her Academy Award–winning film Harlan County, USA at 6 p.m., and an awards ceremony with a panel discussion featuring Kopple and John Cooper at 7:30 p.m.
