Sensory Evaluation of Olive Oil

Pablo Voitzuk returns to Gold Ridge Organic Farms for an in-depth olive oil sensory experience. During this two-hour event, guests will learn how to evaluate a wide range of olive oils from both local and international producers. The guided tasting will teach attendees how to detect specific aroma and flavor profiles that indicate high quality, as well as recognize flaws that suggest an oil is past its prime or improperly made.
Voitzuk is an internationally recognized olive oil educator, consultant, and judge. He teaches at the Olive Oil Times Education Lab in New York City and London and consults with olive orchards and mills in California, New Zealand, Portugal, Uruguay, and Turkey. Originally from Buenos Aires, he developed his expertise in olive oil and table olive curing through hands-on work with Apollo Olive Oil and Pacific Sun Olive Oil, as well as advanced studies under Dr. Marco Mugelli in Tuscany and Dr. Pietro Paolo Arca in Sardinia.
He has served as a judge at numerous prestigious competitions, including the Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition, BIOL in Puglia, the Japan Olive Oil Prize, Sol dOro in Verona, the NYIOOC, and Premio Montiferru. From 2010 to 2022, he was a member of the California Olive Oil Council tasting panel and was named Best Miller of the Year in 2015, 2016, and 2018.
A boxed lunch add-on is available with a 48-hour advance order.
