The Harvest Fair recruits 18 judges representing trade, education, writers, retailers, and other wine and hospitality professionals to evaluate entries in the professional wine competition. For two days, these experts judge more than 900 winesall made from grapes grown in Sonoma Countys premier growing region. Top awards at the Harvest Fair garner local and national recognition for the regions premium wines. The fair also spotlights Sonoma Countys innovative cuisine through its professional food competitions.
Though it garners national attention, the Harvest Fair retains a distinctly local flavor. In addition to the wine and food competitions, the Grand Tasting welcomes more than 1,500 guests to sip and sample all the Gold and Best of Class winners. Patrons can also step outside the tasting pavilion to watch or take part in the World Championship Grape Stomp, held in conjunction with the Grand Tasting.
