‘The Second Mrs. London’ Author Marlo Faulkner

On Wednesday, Oct. 8, Marlo Faulkner will read from her new book, “The Second Mrs. London,” at the House of Happy Walls – the onetime home of Charmian London – at Jack London State Historic Park in Glen Ellen, CA.

Set in San Francisco at the turn of the 20th century, the historical novel tells the story of Charmian, a bold and ambitious woman whose life is forever changed when she meets young writer Jack London. From a broken picnic date to a devoted partnership as friend, confidante, editor, and companion, their story is one of passion, resilience, and determination.

Faulkner’s fascination with Charmian London began during a visit to Jack London State Historic Park, where she discovered Charmian’s private apartment. Years of research, travel, and study culminated in her book, “The Second Mrs. London,” bringing to life the extraordinary story of one of Sonoma Valley’s most captivating women.

The author will share details of the remarkable life of Charmian London, read excerpts from her book inspired by this extraordinary woman, and sign copies for attendees.
