We’re Proud to Present: Black History Month

Come celebrate Black History Month with us at Left Edge Theatre with this incredible story full of wit, spontaneity, and open honesty.

Our new play is, "Proud to Present," which is abridged from the full title: "We Are Proud to Present a Presentation About the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as Southwest Africa, From the German Sudwest Afrika, Between the Years 1884-1915." Phew! 

A powerful, emotionally-wrenching and silly meta-theatrical examination of race, history, and storytelling, six actors attempt to portray the genocide of the Herero people by German colonizers. But what begins as rehearsal quickly descends into a confrontation of privilege, perspective, and the uncomfortable truths of performance itself.
