What’s Up Stargazing Walk-Through

Looking for a fun, educational, and exclusive stargazing experience? The What’s Up program at Robert Ferguson Observatory offers just that, without the crowds. Unlike our larger public star parties, this event is limited to just 40 guests, giving you more telescope time, deeper conversations with expert docents, and a personalized journey through the night sky.

Held once a month, What’s Up includes a live presentation highlighting what’s visible in the skies that month — planets, nebulae, star clusters, and more — followed by guided viewing through all three of the observatory’s telescopes. Presentations vary each month but always promise a fun, approachable learning experience. No prior astronomy knowledge is necessary.

This is an ideal way for individuals or small groups to enjoy one-on-one interaction with our enthusiastic volunteers without booking a private tour. Please note the event begins promptly with a presentation, so plan ahead for mountain driving and parking time.

Tickets are $50 for adults, $45 for seniors (62+) and students, and $40 for members. Admission includes parking at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Tickets are required and nonrefundable. If the event is canceled due to low attendance, ticket holders will receive 24-hour notice and a full refund or credit toward a future program.
