Witches and Wizards on The Water 2025

Everyone is welcome at this community-led Halloween tradition on the Petaluma River. What began as eight witches paddling downtown has grown into a half-day celebration of costumes, community, and spooky fun on the water.

Highlights include a Trick-or-Treat Paddle Trail with stations up and down the river from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a Costume Contest from noon to 1 p.m. for paddlers, pedal-ers, rowers, and canoers of all ages, with prizes donated by local businesses. No pre-registration required.

Floathouse Petaluma will offer rentals of 17 types of people-powered watercraft, including the Hobie Fiesta four-person pedal craft with room for kids, pets, and coolers, and the Megalodon giant paddleboard. Family-friendly canoes and rowboats are also available. Guests may also bring their own board or boat and launch from the public docks in the turning basin.

The fun extends to land as well, with plenty of viewing spots from restaurants and public docks around the basin. Costumes are encouraged — bring your spookiest self and enjoy a day on the water.
