Cornerstone Gardens are an ever-changing series of gardens, showcasing innovative designs from international and local landscape architects and designers. The gardens were inspired by the International Garden Festival at Chaumont-Sur-Loire to create a cultural and creative haven, celebrating the connection between art, architecture and nature. There are currently nine Cornerstone Gardens. Additionally, the five Sunset Gardens highlight food production, the Sunset plant line, bee habitat, cut flowers and composting.
Continually in a state of evolution, some garden installations will be in place for a season, while others will remain for several seasons. Completely enamored by the gardens and the innovative designs they experienced in France, Cornerstone Sonoma founders Chris Hougie and Teresa Raffo started to search for a property to build a similar garden showcase in wine country. Nestled at the gateway to the wine country, Cornerstone Sonoma is now the gallery of gardens that was envisioned 12 years ago. Cornerstone is growing once more with new owners and many new gardens.
