Ernie Smith Community Park in Sonoma features a ball field, basketball court, off-leash dog park, children’s accessible play area, group picnic area, and a paved walking trail. The park is named after Ernest Maynard “Ernie” Smith, a pioneer in Bay Area sports announcing from the mid-1920’s to the 1950’s. Ernie Smith Community Park has a paved, flat, half-mile trail that passes by the park’s playground, sports field, and wetland. Picnic tables and a wildlife viewing platform are located along the trail. Paved, wheelchair-accessible trail, group picnic area, and playground. Open daily from sunrise to sunset.
