Description

Located in Forestville, Nightingale Breads is a small town bakery on the Russian River serving organic artisan breads to Sonoma County and it’s visitors.

About Us

Our bakery operations are centered around our wood-fired oven. Based on the designs of oven builder Alan Scott, this oven is the center of our baking space and our main source of production. We burn a fire nightly to build heat in the bricks, then a dedicated baker rakes the coals out sometime around 9 or 10 pm, leaving the residual heat to bake the entirety of our breads for the next morning.

The main focus for Nightingale is hand made, organic breads. We make everything from scratch, with great care and dedication. Baking bread is a labor of love: sometimes meaning long hours, early mornings, heavy lifting, but it’s all worth it for that moment that we pull beautifully browned loaves from the wood-fired oven, and to hear the delighted reactions of our customers and friends. The bakery has slowly built it’s success over the years, becoming a must stop in Forestville, frequented by Sonoma County locals and visitors. We offer a variety of products daily, with one special loaf for every day of the week. We focus on seasonality – adding locally sourced ingredients to our products where we can. We also sell a small selection of local cheeses, olive oils, preserves, and salamis.
