We like to say it’s the taste of authenticity. The pastoral 700-acre Hicks Valley Ranch has been home to Marin French Cheese since 1865. The protected expanse encompasses shady ponds, grassy meadows and native Live Oak woods which frame scenic views of the 1400-foot peak of Hicks Mountain to the west. Cool breezes from the Pacific Ocean only ten miles away cascade over the rural land —providing exceptional grazing pastures for the cows and yielding the highest quality of milk for our cheesemaking. Marin French Cheese enjoys the distinction of being the longest continually operating cheese company in America. All cheeses are handcrafted in 20 gallon buckets today, just as they were back in 1865.
