Women in Conversation: SNL Legend Molly Shannon

The Press Democrat is excited to announce the return of Women in Conversation, its signature speaker series and women’s festival, taking place Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University.

Following last year’s culinary-focused celebration featuring a “Top Chef” winner, this year’s event will highlight self-expression, creativity, and connection. Headlining the evening is Molly Shannon, the beloved comedian, film and television star, and former cast member of “Saturday Night Live.”

Shannon will take the stage for a candid and deeply personal keynote conversation, reflecting on her rise to comedic fame, her time on SNL, and the resilience shaped by a difficult childhood. Her story is one of grit, growth, and plenty of laughter.

Before the main event, attendees are invited to explore The Experience, an interactive festival space on the Green Music Center lawn. Featuring community vendors, immersive booths, and moments of community building, The Experience is a hands-on celebration of women’s voices and visions.
