3 Most Beautiful Gardens in Sonoma County
An astonishing diversity of gardens flourish in Sonoma County, thanks to the region’s Mediterranean climate and rich soil. Of course, in nature everywhere, most plant life boasts the greatest proliferation of colorful blossoms during spring and summer, but even in winter, something beautiful blooms in Sonoma Wine Coutnry.
Here are three gorgeous gardens to view:
Garden Valley Ranch, Petaluma

Garden Valley Ranch has over 10,000 rose bushes across stunning fields you can tour to discover how the exquisite flowers are grown and shipped around the nation.
Visit the nursery, the Fragrance Garden, and the Pond Garden — a koi pond that’s home to an impressive number of hydrangea and magnolia varieties.
There’s a stunning border that will dazzle with a display of flowers artfully arranged in color sequence and a vintage cottage available to book for an overnight stay!
Russian River Rose Company, Healdsburg

Nestled in Healdsburg’s Dry Creek Valley on stunning acreage surrounded by mountains and just a quarter-mile walk from the Russian River, the Russian River Rose Company features 650 varieties of roses and more than 2,000 individual plants ranging from ancient Species roses to 21st-century hybrids.
Surrounded by mountains just a quarter-mile walk from the Russian River, this gorgeous garden features 650 varieties, including tea roses from the 1800s and ultra-sweet Noisettes.
Visit the butterfly garden and the gorgeous Rose Allee — iron arches covered with different, rambling roses on a path through blooming fields. The outdoor nursery offers rare and specialty roses that grow well in Northern California.
Kruse Rhododendron State Natural Reserve, Jenner

This is one of the prettiest walks you’ll ever find, and from early spring to mid-June, when streams run, the reserve’s abundant rhododendrons burst into vibrant, pink blooms amidst the second-growth redwoods. You’ll also see leafy ferns, flowering shrubs such as Pacific wax myrtle, and California huckleberry, which carries pink flowers in spring and purple berries in summer.
Download a park brochure with a map that features a 2.25-mile round-trip loop trail and includes adjacent Salt Point State Park.
