Torie Clancy
Torie Clancy
Senior Director of Communications
Torie Clancy joined Sonoma County Tourism as the Senior Director of Communications, bringing over two decades of experience from global agencies and nonprofit organizations. In her role, Torie leads the organization’s communications strategy, focusing on media relations, crisis management, and community outreach. Having served four years in the Air Force in a special-duty role, she’s a veteran who brings a disciplined and solutions-driven approach to her work. Additionally, growing up off-the-grid has given her a deep appreciation for nature and sustainable living—perspectives that resonate strongly with Sonoma County’s values and help connect with businesses in the community.
I like to imagine I have a hint of athletic prowess, whether I’m teetering on a Segway, flailing at pickleball, or muttering my way up a hiking trail. When I’m not pretending to pass off meal-kit instructions as culinary brilliance, I’m dragging my husband on spontaneous adventures, catching live music, sneaking in a game of tennis, or coaxing my teenage sons to spend some quality time with us (when they’ll acquiesce). Todd, our rescue Lab, is always game for my company—mostly because he’s hoping for snacks.
For decades, I’ve been subjecting friends and family to my curated Sonoma County adventures—from questionable attempts at wine-tasting segway tours and overnight safaris to inn-to-inn hikes and zip-lining under the stars. They’ve ranged from wildly successful to “we’ll laugh about this later.” Whether glamping or staying in charming boutique hotels, I’ve seen the alchemy that unfolds between the Pacific Coast and the Mayacamas mountains, usually with a glass of local Pinot in hand and a story to tell.
