Description

First and foremost, Without our amazing customers, we are nothing. For more than 25 years, we have been relentless in our quest to provide the North Bay Area with a true taste of Japan. As native Japanese, Chef Ken Tominaga’s passion has been showcasing authentic food, drink, and culture of his homeland. When you experience Hana, we want you to feel as if you were transported across the vast Pacific Ocean, and into a spot-on representation of Tokyo Bay. Not forgetting our beautiful surroundings, Chef Ken also loves to add a subtle taste of Sonoma into his preparation and flavor profile. This is the essence of Hana. With one foot firmly planted in the traditions of old Tokyo, the other foot is stepping into the modern taste of Northern California cuisine.

When you dine at Hana, there are certain qualities we would like you to appreciate. Our fish is unparalleled. You will not find a better selection, or better quality, this side of the Pacific. No matter where the fish comes from, you can rest assured we are acquiring the best fish available anywhere in the world. We have a larger menu with a focus toward ultra-fresh, traditional ingredients. No matter what you decide to eat and drink here, we want it to be impeccable. Because we take such pride in all of our ingredients, our staff is trained to educate you on how best to eat and enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine. We aren’t being pushy, we just want you to taste something the way it is meant to be tasted. This includes our world-class sake selection!

Looking at a sake menu can be a daunting task, especially when it’s chock-full of foreign words. We understand this, which is why our Sake Advisor, Danny Pitassy, is here to take your stress away and make sake fun and accessible. We invite our customers to take advantage of our extensive sake list, ask questions, get some fun education, and explore sake as a big part of Japanese culture and history. Taking some of the mystery out of sake is another unique quality of Hana. We want you to fully enjoy what sake has to offer. It’s an exciting world, and we want you to be part of the fun! We are here to serve you, so that you can walk out of Hana Japanese Restaurant, and feel like you had just experienced a trip to Tokyo.
