Tasting Fee Description: Historic Winery Tasting $20 per person
Built in the 1870’s, our historic winery tasting room is bonded winery #64 in the state of California and is a great way to experience the origins of wine tasting in Sonoma. While the front of the building now serves as a visitor center, tasting room and gift shop, the back half is still used for its original purpose — a winemaking facility. When you come visit, be sure to check out the antique bell above the door that used to serve as our method of rounding up the vineyard workers stretched all across Rhinefarm. Step inside the oldest structure on our property to sample a pre-selected flight of five estate-driven wines, presented by a dedicated Gun Bun host. Learn about our history, winemaking practices and get friendly with fellow wine enthusiasts.

Food & Wine Pairings
Pairings/Experiences Description: Gun Bun Underground
Although our underground wine cave wasn’t a harbor from Prohibition woes, its barrel-lined halls can tell some classic Bundschu stories. Jim Bundschu dug this cave (with the help of Gary the Gopher) in the 1990s after coveting the caves in France, and it has housed both our older and the newest vintages ever since.

This underground cavern stays a naturally chilly temperature for the wines, but the dining room definitely adds cool factor. This seated tasting offers an exploration of five wines (including a library wine), paired with local cheeses and charcuterie. A wine educator will walk you through each selection and offer their informative insight on our wines and deep heritage. And, because wine is best when shared, this is a communal experience around a large table– you might make a friend or two. You’re welcome.
