2025 Sonoma County Honors and Accolades

  • For the second year in a row, the Lodge at Bodega Bay has been voted as the #1 Best Hotel in the World by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler.
  • The MICHELIN Guide has announced its 2025 U.S. hotel honors, awarding Two MICHELIN Keys to The Madrona in Healdsburg and The Stavrand in Guerneville, recognizing them as outstanding stays with exceptional character and service in Sonoma County.
  • Dawn Ranch is among the first hotels in the United States to earn Green Key certification.
  • In the very first edition of North America's 50 Best Restaurants, SingleThread earned the #8 spot.
  • Farmhouse Inn has been named the #17 Hotel in Northern California in the Condé Nast Traveler 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards.
  • Jordan Winery & Vineyards was named as a featured winery in the “What to Do” category of Sunset Magazine‘s 2025 Travel Awards.
  • All 338 acres of Gloria Ferrer’s Sonoma County vineyards and olive groves are now certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF). With this milestone, Gloria Ferrer becomes the only sparkling wine producer in California to be 100% certified organic.
  • Travel + Leisure named Healdsburg one of the 25 Best Christmas Towns in the U.S.
  • Newsweek Magazine has named Transcendence Theatre Company the #2 Outdoor Theater in the U.S.
  • Scott Street Gin, Griffo Distillery’s flagship spirit, was named America’s Greatest London Dry Gin 2025 at the American Distilling Institute’s International Spirits Competition. Griffo’s Espresso Martini Premium Cocktail, a pre-mixed marriage of vodka and Equator Coffee, also received Best of Class and Best Ready to Serve cocktail.
  • Sonoma’s Enclos emerged as Sonoma County’s standout at the 2025 Michelin Guide awards, earning an impressive two stars in its very first year of eligibility. Opened in late 2024, the restaurant bypassed the usual one-star steppingstone and vaulted directly to two-star status, a rare and remarkable achievement in the Michelin world. Even more notably, Enclos became the first restaurant in the town of Sonoma to receive a Michelin star of any kind.
  • Nick Peyton, co-owner and maître d’ of Geyserville’s Cyrus, received a Michelin Service Award for excellence in hospitality. Cyrus maintained its one-star status for 2025. The service award honors individuals who are “professional, engaging and passionate about making guests feel welcome and comfortable,” according to Michelin.
  • Healdsburg’s SingleThread retained their coveted three-star ratings (and green star sustainability award) in the 2025 Michelin Guide.
  • Sonoma Hills Farm earned a full set of awards; Gold, Silver and Bronze at the 2025 California Cannabis Awards led by their popular Pink Jesus Hash Holes taking the top spot in the Infused Solventless Pre-Roll category.
  • CNN named Petaluma as one of “America’s Best Towns to Visit 2025.
  • Travel + Leisure has named Penngrove one of the 10 Best Small Towns to Live in the U.S.
  • Farmhouse Sonoma owner Pemba Sherpa is the recipient of the Sonoma County American Dream Award.
  • Farmhouse Inn has been named #8 in the Top Inns in the Continental U.S. category of Travel + Leisure’s 2025 World's Best Awards.
  • Sonoma County has made a strong presence in the 2025 Hipcamp Awards. Bodega’s Salmon Creek Ranch earned two titles: Best Treehouse and Best Hipcamp in California. Also honored in the Best in Every U.S. State category, Finley Camp, near Occidental.
  • Food review site Mashed has named Petaluma as a “must-visit food destination.”
  • Buena Vista Winery claimed the #4 spot for America’s Best Winery Tours according to USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
  • In a recent Newsweek article compiling the 10 best small cities for foodies across the U.S., Healdsburg clinched the No. 2 spot.
  • Newsweek’s panelists and contributors selected 10 top zip lines across the U.S., with readers voting for the best. Sonoma Zipline Adventures in Occidental claimed the #1 spot nationwide.
  • The Spectacular Spyglass Treehouse in Occidental has earned the title of California’s most wish-listed Airbnb, part of the vacation rental platform’s roundup of top-trending stays in each U.S. state.
  • Readers of USA Today’s 10Best have voted Healdsburg as the #3 on their list of 10 Best Small Towns in the West.
  • USA Today’s 10 Best Readers have voted Gourmet Food & Wine Tours of Sonoma the #1 Food Tour in the U.S. for 2025
  • Travel + Leisure recently released a list of the best places in California to go glamping. Of the 24 destinations spanning the golden state, four picks are located in Sonoma County. They include Sonoma Treehouse Adventures, Wildhaven Sonoma, Autocamp Russian River, and The River Electric.
  • The winners of the first-ever Best of California’s State Parks poll have been announced, with Sonoma Coast State Park taking the top spot for Best Dog-Friendly Adventures.
  • USA Today 10Best recently released a roundup of the “10 best small towns in the West.” The Sonoma County town of Healdsburg clinched the #3 spot on the 2025 list.
  • The San Francisco Chronicle has named their top 23 Sonoma County Wineries for 2025 in what they call “America’s most dynamic wine region.”
  • In the recent 10Best list of best U.S. glamping spots, Santa Rosa’s Safari West came out on top. A group of USA Today 10Best editors and readers curated the selection of glamping resorts.
  • Sonoma County’s Country Summer Music Festival earned the #3 spot in the 2025 Newsweek Readers' Choice Awards for Best Outdoor Music Festival.
  • SingleThread was named one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025, coming in at #80 on this year’s extended list.
  • Forbes Travel Guide has awarded SingleThread Farms Restaurant its highest rating (5 stars) in the 2025 travel guide. Additionally, Forbes included the inn in its “recommended” list of places to stay. Other Sonoma County luxury establishments recommended by Forbes Travel Guide include Farmhouse Inn and Farmhouse Inn Restaurant in Forestville.
  • Two Sonoma County restaurants have been recognized as Bib Gourmands in the California selections of the Michelin Guide. These are Enclos in Sonoma and Table Culture Provisions in Petaluma.
  • The New York Times named Healdsburg's Quail & Condor one of the Best Bakeries in the US.
