One of the original 22 Certified Farmers Markets in California, this Healdsburg market offers an ever-rotating variety of produce, wild fish, delicious prepared foods, and more. Thanks to its lively schedule of family-friendly events throughout the season (zucchini races, anyone?),  the market has been a community favorite since 1978.
When: Tuesdays, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (mid-May – September) and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. – noon (mid-April – December)

9. Windsor Certified Farmers Market

10. Occidental Community Farmers Market

Nestled among the redwoods, this magical farmers market offers the enchantment of West County’s vibrant organic produce, ethical artisan crafts, and diverse gourmet food, all within a historic hamlet boasting charming and creative local businesses. The event includes live music every week with activities for the whole family. When: Thursdays, 4 – 8 p.m. (May – October)

Get Ripe Produce in Each Season in Sonoma County

Spring in Sonoma County means you’ll find good things like baby artichokes, red-and-white striped beets, young garlic, colorful cauliflowers, an array of herbs, and bouquets of edible flowers. Apples appear on the trees, starting with the area’s famed Gravenstein variety, known for a juicy, tart flavor.

Summer in Sonoma County usually brings plenty of berries and stone fruits like apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines, and cherries.
